I got my real estate license and began working with Kingsway Realty in June of 2008- right when the market crashed! Looking back, it was a challenging but great time to start because it taught me that nothing comes easy. Since then, the market has improved, and my career has grown along with it.

My first transaction was helping a buyer purchase a house in Lancaster City for just $30,000. He then renovated it, and I helped him sell it for $60,000. That same type of property today is probably worth $180,000 or more!

When I started in real estate, my wife Melody and I had one child who had just turned one year old. Now we have 4 kids with the oldest about to turn 18 and the youngest already 11 years old!  That puts my real estate career at 17 years as of June 2025.  

In the beginning of 2017, I made the decision to hire Matthew Auker to work with me full time as my licensed assistant and right-hand man. Matt has been a valuable part of my business. We work together hand in hand on all real estate transactions, manage rental properties, and work on remodeling / rehabbing properties. 

After being born and raised in Lancaster County, in 2017 my family and I also made the decision to move an hour northeast to a farmhouse in Berks County. Since we had already been doing a good amount of business in Berks County, this move made sense. Now, with Matt working out of our Lancaster Office, and me living on the corner of Berks, Lehigh, Montgomery, and Bucks Counties, we can cover a large area between the two of us.

Over the past 17 years, I’ve had the pleasure of helping many clients and friends buy and sell real estate. I have also personally bought and sold over 150 properties myself, many of which I’ve rehabbed. I have gained valuable insights and have found this experience to be helpful in working with sellers and buyers in many different ways. We know exactly what needs to be done, and what to avoid, when getting a home ready for the market. Additionally, we’re skilled at spotting potential “money pit” properties when working with buyers.

For many people, real estate has been a path to financial freedom, and it truly has been for me as well. When you make the right purchase, it’s hard to lose. That’s what we focus on, and pride ourselves on- helping clients buy smart. When you buy right, selling down the road usually means a nice profit, and for owner-occupied homes, it could mean tax advantages as well.
